Commonwealth Association of Non-Governmental Organisations, CANGO

1. Promote global peace and development, especially within the Commonwealth of nations. 

2. Safeguard the rights of NGOs to speak, and have their voices heard at the  Commonwealth

3. Assist its members with access and participation at Commonwealth legislative processes 

4. Facilitate dialogue between UN, the Commonwealth and NGOs 

5. Inform CANGO members of Commonwealth and NGO activities and initiatives 

6. Disseminate information on CANGO members' activities 

7. Strengthen NGO activities through the presence of CANGO NGO Committees 

8. Create NGO partnerships and networks in and among regions 

9. Organize annual Commonwealth Association of NGOs Conferences 

10. Enable NGOs to develop strength, gain respect and be self assertive
